SBSettings is one of the best Cydia Apps to provide iPhone user a faster way to manage phone settings. Impatient user must have this app because they no longer need to go through the traditional way (the gray settings screen in iPhone which take a few steps to enter) to enable/disable features such as WiFi, Bluetooth, 3G/4G, airplane mode, and other important toggles you often use. SBSettings also provide a faster way to adjust the brightness or the phone with just one touch. Every setting could save you a few seconds and that could be a week over the year. Other than that, iPhone users know the hateful Weather report on the screen can’t be uninstalled but SBSettings can help you to hide it.
SBSettings is free to download but it only works for Jailbroken iPhones and iPod touch. If your iPhone of iPod is not jailbroken, you will have to learn how to jailbreak Apple products. If it is a jailbroken iPhone, you can follow these steps by steps guide to install and use SBSettings.
Step 1: Launch Cydia from your iPhone or iPod touch and search for “SBSettings”. If you haven’t got Cydia, you will have to download Cydia before you are able to download SBSettings. If your text box is with instant result enabled, you may see some other related stuff like “SBSettings A Drawn Theme”, “SBSettings AnkiMini”, “SBSettings BluePad AS”, and others.
Step 2: Tap for SBSettings once it appears at the search results. The latest version right now (as of June 2012) is 5.1.1b for iPhone 4 GSM. The version will be updated from time to time depending on our BigBoss.
Step 3: Next step is to tap the “Install” button at the top right corner and then tap “Confirm” when you see the screen shows “Continue Queing”.
Step 4: Do nothing but wait until the installation is done. The screen will show a list of white color word with black color background during the installation.
Step 5: Tap “Restart SpringBoard” once the installation is done. Now you are done for the installation!
So, how to use SBSettings?
On your status bar, SBSettings will drop down. As you can see from the drop down menu, there are a few default icons such as 3G, Bluetooh, Brightness, Data, Processes, Wi-Fi, and etc. You can set these quick toggles by tapping the “More”.
Once you are into the SBSettings Setup, tap the “Set Toggles” easily.
Here you can turn your preferred toggle to ON if you want them to appear at the quick bar. Turn them OFF for toggles you seldom use.
