You and me, we are human, and we do definitely love free things. Just like anybody else, I have been searching for the best free Cydia apps and tweaks. Few months ago, I used to do a little research by asking a group of iFriends (iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad users) to list out their beloved Cydia apps on a plain paper with ten empty boxes, and their answers became the top 10 Cydia apps. Most of the apps listed in the top 10 are very cool but some of them are paid app. Therefore, I am going to share a few cool Cydia apps that are free to download here. I have already shrunk it to best five instead of the traditional top 10 best so that you get best of the best. So, what are they and where to download them?
1. Winterboard – God created human and Saurik created Cydia. God creates river and mountain after he creates human and Saurik creates Winterboard after he creates Cydia. It’s not about the owner of Cydia create this app but it’s all about the functionality of this app and also what it can do. Winterboard is capable to let you customize the look of your iDevices, change the theme, as well as customize the screen to make the your iDevice peerless. Repo: Cydia.Saurik.com.
2. SBSettings – Since day one, I keep on emphasizing SBSettings is a must-have Cydia apps with a few reasons: It is free to download; It is a gateway to reach hundreds of free themes such as Serious Theme, Gruppled Theme, and Metal-Tech Theme; It is an important Cydia app to allow you to manage your phone settings faster.
3. Ultrasnow – Ultrasn0w never appear in any rating in my previous post not because it is not cool. It is a very cool app although it doesn’t comes with a lot of features. 4. Qik – Last month I went toLos Angeles and coincidently I met Psy from Gangnam style there. When he performed his signature “Oppa Gangnam Style”, I saw everyone is holding their iPhones and iPads recoding his performance. If video recording is a big part of your life, Qik is probably the best free Cydia apps for you. What is even better is Qik is able to stream the video you are taking and broadcast it live to anyone you would like them to view. It’s like doing a live show. Best for people who love live broadcast.
5. asBattery – asBattery is a very simple app that just show the remaining battery percentage at the top bar of your iPhone. What else? No more. Huh? How come it is considered as one of the best Cydia apps? It is because it tells you when to get your phone a charger and it also tells you the exact battery status from time to time. Simple yet a useful function.
